Immediately after getting drawn against Actual Madrid within the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel can not wait to take the holders on.
Thomas Tuchel described Borussia Dortmund’s draw against Actual Madrid in the Champions League as “almost a classic” and is undaunted by the prospect of a challenging section.
The Bundesliga giants face a difficult Group F against defending champions Madrid, who won the competitors for an 11th time last season, whilst Sporting CP and Legia Warsaw comprehensive the four-team line-up.
But head coach Tuchel is relishing Dortmund coming up against heavyweights Madrid, a side they met four instances en route for the final in the 2012-13 season.
“We have awaited the draw with good anticipation,” he told the club’s official website. “It is really a delightful group, equally hard and eye-catching.
“Playing against True is, for Dortmund, practically a classic. We look forward to facing the defending champions.”
Captain Marcel Schmelzer warned that Sporting and Legia will also prove difficult opponents.
“Madrid is often a beautiful draw, despite the fact that we have played them typically,” he added. “We know them well, but Sporting are new to us.
“And Legia, as the initially Polish group in 20 years to attain the group stage, are anything [to feel about].
“We have already been warned. But obviously we would like to prevail in this group and undergo.”
