Asked if Arsenal need to enter the market in January, Wilshere told Sky Sports’ Ambitions on Sunday programme:
“I don’t feel so.
“Defensively we look great. We’ve got Gabriel who has really grown up. Final season, he was settling in. He is truly suited towards the Premier League.
“We’ve also got Calum Chambers, who if necessary, is there. We’ve also got myself and Danny Welbeck who should really be back round January and make the group stronger.”
The phrase “should be back about January” could be the one that raises the doubts, Jack.
Wilshere also says Arsenal are sending out a message to the other teams inside the Premier League with their form.
“The result against Bayern was essential for us, nevertheless it was critical that we continued on from that,” Wilshere said. “We saw the outcomes earlier within the day and we knew if we won, we’d go top.
“In the past, when we’ve necessary to win to send out a message, we haven’t. We’re beginning to complete it now.”
