Wilshere wants Wenger talks

Injury restricted Wilshere to just nine Premier League begins final season – two of which came in the final two games in the season inside the No.10 part and wide on the right.

Wilshere plays inside a withdrawn central midfield role for England and has created no secret of his wish to fill that position for the Gunners; his pleas have fallen on deaf ears as Wenger prefers to play Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla in those central positions.

“I haven’t spoken towards the boss about what plans he has for me – but I will do before the commence on the season,” stated Wilshere.

“At the moment, I’m just concentrating on finding fit. I had an excellent end to the season and I just would like to keep it going.

“That’s why I wanted to come back in early for pre-season simply because I felt I missed too much of last season and wanted to provide myself the most beneficial chance to obtain match.

“I asked the boss – I mentioned, ‘Boss, can I come back early?’ I wanted that for the reason that I missed rather lots of last season. The competition is powerful in midfield so, yes, it’s down to us as men and women to produce that spot ours but I’m up for the challenge and I’m confident the other boys are also.”

Wilshere played in the No.10 function in the very first match of Arsenal’s pre-season on Wednesday and Wenger mentioned: “For me, Jack can play in each of the offensive positions – wide and central; and we’ve several fantastic creative players. They will all let you know they need to play centrally. Unfortunately, some must go wide at the same time.

“Jack usually had an appetite but he’s been out for any long time. But already within the last two or three games of last season, he has discovered his burst back. His acceleration.”
